Travel Fees
Sessions within 20 minutes of Kīlauea are included in your package price.
Locations beyond a 20-minute drive from Kīlauea require a travel fee starting at $150+ based on the distance traveled. Travel fees help cover additional driving time and transportation costs.
Common locations that require a travel fee include:
Ha'ena / Tunnels
Ke'e Beach
Poʻipū / Kōloa
Waimea /Kekaha

What should I wear to my session?
Choose outfits that make you feel comfortable, confident, and like yourself. Soft neutral tones, earthy colors, flowy dresses, and linen photograph beautifully against Kauaʻi’s natural landscapes. Coordinate colors rather than matching, and avoid large logos or distracting patterns so the focus stays on you and your loved ones.
What are some tips to prepare for my session?
Come ready to relax, have fun, and make memories! Arrive a few minutes early, and trust the process. Avoid sunburns/harsh taglines if possible. I’ll guide you through natural poses and help create a session that feels effortless and true to you.
How long will it take to get my gallery?
For standard sessions Edited galleries are typically delivered within 4-6 weeks. Each image is thoughtfully selected and edited to ensure you receive the best moments from your session.
For Weddings, Elopments, & Videography Sessions are typically delivered within 10-18 weeks.
What does your Photo & Video Package include?
Our photo and video packages are created by a husband-and-wife team. Danielle focuses on capturing timeless photography while Tucker captures the moments through videography, allowing you to relive your wedding day from every angle. At this time, our video packages do not include professional audio, but focus on beautifully capturing the emotions, details, and unforgettable moments of your day through cinematic footage.
What if you're not available for us to book with you?
If I’m already booked for your date, I’d be happy to recommend trusted photographers or videographers who may be available
Why Do I have to Pay a retainer before my session?
The retainer secures your date and ensures that I reserve that time exclusively for you. Once your retainer is paid and your contract is signed, your session or wedding date is officially booked. This allows me to begin preparing for your experience and prevents me from accepting another booking for that same date.
Why do you require a travel fee?
Travel fees help cover the additional time, mileage, and transportation costs required for locations farther from KÄ«lauea. This allows me to continue providing the same level of care, preparation, and quality for every session, no matter where your location is on the island.
What if the weather is bad?
Kauai's weather can be unpredictable, but some of the most beautiful and unique photos can happen with clouds, light rain, or changing skies. I’ll keep an eye on the weather and communicate with you if conditions may affect your session. If we need to reschedule due to unsafe conditions, we’ll work together to find another available date.
How far in advance should I book my session?
I recommend booking as early as possible, especially for weddings, holidays, and peak travel seasons. Availability can fill quickly.

Do you help choose a location?
Absolutely! I’m happy to recommend locations based on the type of session, lighting, and the overall feeling you want for your photos.
What time of day is best for photos?
The best lighting is typically during sunrise or sunset when the light is soft and flattering. I’ll help plan the best time for your chosen location.
Do we need to know how to pose?
Not at all! I’ll guide you with natural prompts and poses so you feel comfortable and confident throughout your session.
What happens if we are late?
Please allow enough time to arrive at your location. Your session time is reserved specifically for you, and arriving late may shorten your session time.
Can we share our photos online?
Absolutely! I love when clients share their memories. Please tag Danielle Gunn Photography when sharing.
